विवाह वेद मंत्रों द्वारा संपन्न होने वाला हिंदू समाज का एक महत्वपूर्ण अंग है विवाह में अग्नि की आवश्यकता क्यों होती है इसका सीधा सा जवाब यह होना चाहिए कि अग्नि कभी दूषित नहीं होती अग्नि सदैव पवित्र मानी गई है अग्नि में जलकर सभी चीजें पवित्र हो जाती हैं और अग्नि हर चीज को शुद्ध कर देती है इसलिए विवाह के समय अग्नि को साक्षी मानकर वर वधु उसके चारों ओर परिक्रमा करते हैं और सात परिक्रमा करते हैं कई वर्णों में जैसे ब्राह्मण वर्ण में चार परिक्रमा का ही महत्व है और इस परिक्रमा का मतलब होता है कि हम कई जन्मों के लिए एक दूसरे के साथ हैं अग्नि की परिक्रमा में वधू आगे चलती है और वर पीछे चलता है क्योंकि हमारे धर्म ग्रंथों में वेदों में नारी को प्रथम स्थान दिया है सभी देवताओं के नाम के आगे नारी का नाम जुड़ा हुआ है बिना नारी के जब देवता भी अधूरे हैं और देवता भी पहले नारी को आगे रखते हैं और उनकी पूजा करते हैं तब हम मनुष्य तो क्या चीज हैं जिस घर में नारी का मान सम्मान होता है उस घर में अपने आप देवताओं का निवास हो जाता है नारी को लक्ष्मी का अन्नपूर्णा का स्थान दिया गया है जिस का मान सम्मान करोगे तो वह आपके घर में धन की कमी नहीं होने देगी और अगर उसका अपमान करोगेधनधान्य सब नष्ट हो जाएगा इसलिए अपने अपने घर की लक्ष्मी ओ का मान सम्मान कीजिए और सुख सुविधाओं को प्राप्त कीजिए
